Very interesting shot, Paulo. There is a lot going on there, I am not sure what. It looks to me as thought the red things are not abdomens, but pupae of some sort. Maybe their own that they are moving, or some that they are appropriating for food. The details are very sharp. Hhmmm.... I am very curious. TFS. : )

Hi Paulo,
absolute sharpness, wow, I love it.

Hi Paulo, an excellent and interesting picture. I think what you've got there is a family of true bugs (hemiptera). The big orange one on the underside of the leaf is moulting (the smaller black things are the empty skins)and will quickly become red and black like the other ones. Fascinating observation!

Very interesting macroshot. And with the comment from Philippe Moniotte, it looks much like a film, so much action is seen on your very sharp picture. The moulting bug indeed has a stinging mouthpart in perfect focus. Often vividly coloured bugs tend to crowd together like our European Pyrrhocoris apterus as a sort of defense strategy.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful South American insect beauties with us.

Hola Paulo,
Saludos
Hernán
