this i a very good picture.
The shallow DOF mkaes the subject stands out well from the BG.

Firstly, thank you for introducing me to this unknown bird (to me anyhow) and for a very interesting and informative note.
Your composition is just great. From the diagonal branch running through the photo to the positioning of the bird itself looking back to utilize all the space to the left of the photo. Lovely stuff.
Technically it is of the highest standard and quality. DOF, BG, colour, exposure and lighting are all executed too the book.
Very well done and TFS.

Hi Livios, Great post, I love the contrast between bird and BG. Wonderful pose and composition and technically very good. Out of interest, how far away from this bird were you, did you use a tripod and what ISO was it taken on? It is very sharp and clear. Very well done :)
