Dear friends, I've been facing some problems when uploading my pictures - something wrong with my computer and/or with my connection. Besides, I'm really out of time. But when the problem with my computer and/or my conection is solved (a friend of mine will try that on Wednesday), I guess I'll be back in a more regular basis.

Yellow-headed Carcara (Milvago chimachima)
The Yellow-headed Caracara is a commonly seen raptor in its range from Panama to northern Argentina largely because of its habit of patrolling roads looking for carrion.
It is fairly small with a characteristic pale head with dark stripe behind the eye. In flight it shows a conspicuous white patch on its long wings.
Apart from road kills it eats insects including caterpillars, frogs, fish, etc…

It often sits on the back of cattle where it normally picks off ticks but is also known to eat the flesh from open wounds. In some cases, a Capybara replaces a cow as a suitable perch.

That is an unusual pose for this bird. I love his fanned-out tail. Great details on this beautiful raptor's feathers, wonderful pose.

He looks a little ruffled up there. Windy??? Spot on exposure with nice saturated colors and sharp detail. He looks great to me. Hope you get your computer issue resolved. I am also having problems and will be taking it down soon.
