Not an easy one Livio,
the composition is nice, the pov is nice, I dont like the dof here but thats personal, yoy say self why you used the high speed, well thats the reasen of the bad dof in this case, farther good job.

Its a good shot, a bit tough on the contrast between the butterfly and flower, but its a solid shot.

Hi Livio,
delighful composition, very attractive at first glance even from the thumbnail.
Very good depth of field, achieved by using a flash. The question is if the flash would have been needed at all with a flat sitting pose like that one.
Flash seems to make the picture a bit difficult to handle with some hard reflections, and it creates the feeling of a shot taken at night.
But no doubt, this is a beautiful shot with wonderful colours and great composition.

Deep rich colors on this butterfly (and flowers too), Livio.
The parallel plane at which this shot was taken gives it perfect focus throughout.
You mentioned that you darkened the BG with Photoshop. You did a fantastic job of isolating the subject. : )

Looks like you had difficult conditions for this shot. Light looks harsh. You have managed it well and the result is good. The dark BG compliments the shot. :-)

Looking at the pattrens it looks like a cousin of grass yellow , but sure about the ID, sorry!

Hi Livio
Great shot of this USB (unidentified sitting butterfly) visiting the VH (variegated hibiscus).
The composition is well done with the flower stretching deep into the frame to deliver the butterfly. The colours are vibrant. The DOF shows very well on the flower and I know that the butterfly surely must have been somewhere within the range, but for some reason I seem to miss some detail on the insect. I don't know if it is my screen, glasses or eyes but I seem to be unable to detect the textures on the wings. (?)
Anyway, well done and TFS.
