Here is the papaya tree, commom in Brazil. This capture is from the southern region, in the Serra do Mar (Sea Sierra) nearby the little village of Morretes, around 70km from Curitiba, where it grows up plentiful.
"Carica papaya" is a native specie from South America. Before its mature phase, like showed here, its shell presents a kind of milky latex that contain substances noxious to the mucous membrane, but it is used, through cookery, to smooth beef.
A few days after this stage the papaya will be changing colours to yellow/orange, and so it will be ready to eat:
1- plain (with some lemon drops on it);
2- juice;
3- with one scoop of vanila ice cream;
4- You can liquefy it with vanila ice cream and add little bit of cassis liqueur (the ammount depends of your taste, but the usual is to add around 1 liqueur glass or half of it). Add the cassis after the papaya cream is served in the ice cream cup (this is my favorite recipe). Enjoy!

Hi Jose,
Excellent shot! The POV looking upwards and the composition are superb. The positioning of the pawpaw clusters is superb, giving good depth. I like the green and white colour tones, the sharp details, and the framing. Well captured!
