| This very special flower starts as a pink flower and when it opens up the blue color apears... The flower looks a bit waxed and I found it by the coast of Chile not far from Vina del Mar... |

Ina, nice shot. It is a Puya venusta. It's a species categorized as rare, due to the strong human pressure along the chilean coastline. It lives on the coast, always with an ocean view, and people also want to have an ocean view. As a result, the Puya gets thrown aside and a house is built.

This is definitely a Puya sp. (Bromeliaceae), P. venusta, P. violacea or related.
