Hi,
This picture was taken on the altiplano. Vicunas are on the family of camels and they are wild. They live in higher alitude on the andes massif.

Beautiful atmosphere you have captured here in this interesting view of the altiplano, with these vicunas in such a karstic environment. Well done ! Thanks for sharing these great moments, Patrick
This is a nice shot of Vicuna, plus you don't really see to many pictures of them very often. I've read that the Vicuna were at one time extremely endangered, back in the 60's there numbers only reached somewhere around 6000, not really much compared to the 1.5 million that used to roam around in ancient Incas times, their numbers are much safer now and have been estimated around 100,000. Their IUCN status is curently set at vunerable. I was hoping to photograph them when I was in Peru, maybe next time. Paul :)
