| Chilean flamingos in Torres del Paine Chile, Laguna de Los Cisnes. The guide said it was unusual that they didn't fly away when we got quite close. There was water between us and the birds. Phoenicopterus chilensis, a regular nonbreeding summer visitor to Torres del Paine. Classified as a Near Threatened species. Breeds in northern Argentinan patagonia, and the altiplano of Bolivia, Chile, Peru and NW Argentina. |
