Chilean name: Pitío
The Chilean Flicker is distributed in central and southern Chile and adjacent areas of extreme west Argentina. It is found in open southern beech Nothofagus forest and in agricultural areas with nearby trees.
It feeds mainly on the ground on ants but will perch in trees when not feeding.
It has a grey forehead to nape, and a buffy face. The male, has a dusky malar which is lacking in the female. The iris is yellowish except in juveniles.

bello pov.
detalles y original pose,

Hi Mircea,
A pretty good capture of this bird!
I like so much your POV to make the eye contact with the flicker.
The colour of the eye makes a great contrast against the rest of their plumage.
I like also the wide composition made.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM
