This butterfly belongs to the longwing family, they put their eggs in plants of the Passiflora family. This is a subspecie that lives in Colombia between 1000 and 1800 masl. Picture taken in the wild.

Esta mariposa pone sus huevos en plantas de la familia Pasifloracea. Foto tomada en estado natural. Esta subespecie vive solo en Colombia entre 1000 y 1800 msnm.

That's a beautiful butterfly, Juan.

Hallo Juan, well presented and clear outline of the butterfly against light and dark background parts. Angle and light are just right to show the blue iridescent colour.
