This bird is known in our country as Carpintero Habado, the scientific name is Melanerpes rubricapillus is a common but beautiful woodpecker, the male has the top of the head and the neck colored in red and the female only has the neck in red.
It is possible to find this species in the north of our territory and all the valley between the east and central mountain range.
