This is a Cucarachero Negro y Blanco, the scientific name is Campylorhynchus nuchalis. The day I took the picture, six of theme were constructed a big nest (more than 50 cms), the entrance is lateral and the nest is totally covered by little sticks, dry grass, some leaves and so on, the tree was a Trupillo (similar to an Acacia) that day, they were collected some seeds that looked like soft feathers and each bird at different times came into the nest to put them inside.
Believe me it was very complicated to take some pictures, because they move very fast and they use the branches of the tree to hide them.
Constantly they sing, I suppose is the method used to communicate among them, really they are noisy and It is the way we use to locate the place they are. |
