| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Grasshoppers are insects of the suborder Caelifera in the order Orthoptera. To distinguish them from bush crickets or katydids, they are sometimes referred to as short-horned grasshoppers. Species that change colour and behaviour at high population densities are called locusts.
In Colombia the known species probably do not comprise even 30% of those which can be expected to exist there, given a) the diversity of the terrestrial ecosystems b) the numerous areas of endemism c) the large size of the country and d) its biogeographical location at the point of transition between the faunas of South and Central America. |

very well done
Jacqueline
This is a very attractive blue Grasshopper, Carlos.
The picture shot from the top is crisp and sharp. The blue leaf acts as an excellent background for the subject.
Well done!
TFS.
