Whale tail

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| On a boat trip from Puerto Lopez to Isla de la Plata (a two hour tour on the Pacific, so with the big roller waves it's difficult to keep a straight horizon) there were these humpback-whales playing. What big they are! There was one wich dive under the boat and came up just along side it (luckily not sooner...) Great experience. From mid-June to early October (especially in July and August) these whales can be spotted regularly and special whale spotting trips are organized. In that time it is winter time in that area and that means many cloudy days. It is the original photo - analog -, I haven't cropped it (so close are they...) only framed it. |

The shot is very nice Liesbeth,
I like the timing that is perfect, one important thing you forgot and that is the horizon is not straight, farthewr I think that you can made it some better with a noise eater, farther very good job.

What a wonderful picture Liesbeth! In Kaikoura, NZ I have also seen and captured a Whale. You can see it HERE. Your picture is nice. Good POV and well composed. Itīs just a little noisy. Did you crop a lot? I would have liked to read a longer note though. I hope you don't mind I've added your picture to my theme. TFS! Points later ...
You capture this big fellow in a classical position here!
You do it all well, action well captured and in a pleasant composition...
Some irregularities present in your image, maybe a result from scanning... some noise reduction will most likely help to some extent
