Strange male inflorescence of a natural palm. Photograph taken near the Lodge Tundaloma, about 15 kilometers from the town of San Lorenzo (border with Colombia).
This inflorescence is about 2.5 meters long. In the workshop, you can view the entire palm and appreciate the scale and size of this curiosity of nature.
The subject is under sub-timber forest: the brightness is relatively low. Therefore I determined an aperture of f / 3.2, to have enough light. Despite this, the speed of shooting is only 1 / 60 th. The result is a blur which is not the best. But basically for me, this was to show this curiosity from the wild nature.

Hola philippe
Interesante imagen y explicación, buen contraste, realmente parece una cuerda gruesa,
Muy buena y no vista.
Un saludo Antonio
Bonjour Philippe,

Hi Philipe,
quite a unique plant, never saw palm like this before, nice picture consider you took it from dense and low light rain forest, thanks for the great notes
