The Blue-footed Booby (Sula nebouxii) is a bird in the Sulidae family which comprises ten species of long-winged seabirds.

The name “booby” comes from the Spanish term bobo, which means "stupid fellow". This is because the Blue-footed Booby is clumsy on the land, and like other seabirds can be very tame. It has been known to land on boats, where it was once captured and eaten.

The natural breeding habitat of the Blue-footed Booby is tropical and subtropical islands off the Pacific Ocean, most famously, the Galápagos Islands,Ecuador.

What a beautiful image of this lovely big bird.
Great how the colors of the Booby do stand out against the colors of the rock he's on.
Great sharpnes and exposure and therefore the details in the feathers of the bird are most wonderful.

This is the most peculiar color combination I may have seen on a bird, brown and blue !!
This is a great shot with a lot of colors, specially the red rock as the BG. Very nice details.

Scanned... are u kidding us... this one's too good to be scanned... I just hope it's not a "Booby Trap" ;-)

Hi Way, I thought I did a critique for this the other day, but I must have backed out wrong and lost it. Sorry about that.

In any case, I liked this one for the contrast. You have great colour seen in that red rock. The bird, with those amazing feet contrasts very nicely with this. Your crop works well in positioning of the bird, and even though it is scanned from film, you have maintained creditable detail (and quality) in the shot.
