[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This bird is called the American Oystercatcher. This guy was going from tide pool to tide pool, picking up green urchins, poking a hole in them, and then eating the stuff inside. It was actually quite entertaining. Like all the birds in the Galapagos, these guys were unafraid of me so I was able to get shots with a relatively short lens (200mm), that would be impossible anywhere else in the world.

Cheers.

Nice Capture. Looks tasty. i Like the red-orange of his beak. Nice Job

Hi Wes
What a unique looking bird. His red beak is just amazing and so long.
Detail, colours, and lighting are really great. Nicely framed and good notes. It must have been an amazing trip to make it to the Galapagos Islands.

great closeup, good colors. a little more DOF would be nice.

hi Wes,,

very nice colour you have here.you need to put more space around, this make more feeling on the pic.

more DOF which mean stop down the F stop to maybe f8,this make the bird leg and body sharp.

finally you need eye contact with the bird.which is the harder part because you need to maintain his body position and wait only for the eye to look at you.sometime this impossible to achieve.

anyway you had done a perfect job,i cant even get so close to the bird.well done.

Hello Wes,
Excellent details and a very fine composition!
The red beak is a real eye-catcher...
Action of the bird is captured very well, nicely presented to your audience!
