Galapagos Flamingo
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The western side of Santa Cruz island is covered by huge, fairly new, lava fields. It is almost like walking on the surface of Mars. What makes it so bizarre is that as you are walking along there are small, lush, oasises scattered throughout the land. In these areas are small brackish ponds that smell of sulfur. But, what makes it weird is that the ponds are filled with flamingos. You have penguins along the shore, and flamingos not too far inland. If there is one place I would tell someone to visit before they die, it would be the Galapagos islands.

Hi Wes
Stunning plumage colours. Very nicely composed. Well done!
