Ces pélicans ont été photographiés sur les iles ballestas (voir la photo postée hier)
Le Pélican thage appellé aussi pélican brun du Chili (Pelecanus thagus) appartient à la famille des pélicans.
Il vit sur la côte ouest de l'Amérique du sud, du Pérou au nord du Chili.
La saison de reproduction s'étalent de septembre à mars. Ils pondent deux ou trois œufs, qui sont couvés pendant près de cinq semaines. Les oisillons sont élevés pendant trois mois en général.
Ces pélicans se nourissent de plusieurs espèces de poissons avec une préférence pour les anchois du Pérou (Engraulis ringens) qu'ils chassent en plongeant comme leur cousin le pélican brun

These pelicans were photographed on the islands Ballestas (see the photograph posted yesterday) the Pelican thage appellé also brown pelican of Chile (Pelecanus thagus) belongs to the family of the
pelicans.
It lives on the West coast of South America, of Peru in the north of Chile. The season of reproduction are spread out September at March.
They lay two or three eggs, which is brooded during nearly five weeks.
Let us fledglings are high for three months in general.
These pelicans eat several fish species with a preference for anchovies of Peru (Engraulis ringens) which they drive out while plunging like their cousin the brown pelican
