| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Andean Cock-of-the-rock, Rupicola peruviana is a medium-sized, approx. 32cm (12½ in) long, passerine with a large disk-like crest and scarlet or brilliant orange plumage. It has black tail and wings. The female is significantly darker and browner than the male and has a shorter crest.
Near the Cock of the Rock lodge, on the eastern slope of the Peruvian Andes, you have to wake up at about 4:30 to see these birds' mating ritual. |

Tomer, welcome to treknature :) A well composed shot - your instincts are terrific - I especially like the other bird in the background. Unfortunately it's out of focus and you haven't shared what it was taken with or your settings - so I can't comment too much...
It was taken in low light - Fstop needed to be low and ISO a little higher than normal. If your using a point and shot - you must be very careful about your focus options.
Tomer, please keep posting - don't be discouraged by a lack of critiques - it will happen and your photography will improve. thanks for sharing this photo of a very unusual bird. mark.
