| A juvenile Andean condor (Vultur gryphus) preens itself before the Sachsaywaman (pronounced "sexy woman") ruins...an Inca fortress 2 km outside Cusco. Not as impressive perhaps as the ruins at Machu Picchu because of the location, Sachsaywaman is considered the largest stone edifice in the New World. Some of the building blocks weigh up to 360 tons! They were carved with such precision that no mortar was necessary...and you can't slip a credit card between them. It remains a mystery how they were transported. |

Fabulous bird!!! Great details in those feathers!
Interesting view of this bird, which I assume was wild. You note about the ruins was very useful and interesting also.
