I just love pictures where flash and shutter speed are combined skilfully to create a picture such as this that has super sharp details on the head (Which i find most birds hold dead still in the hover stage) and then such beautiful body and wing motion. I personally love experimenting with it albeit with less exotic species!!..Just what my garden can provide!!
This a Top Rate Classy Capture.

Hi Selen. Amazing just about sums this up. The way you have use the light from the flash to gine the birds feathers a shine. the colours are beautiful which you have captured so well with fine detail.very well done TFS. good notes too .

This Green Violet-ear must have been hovering in one place for you to be able to capture him so sharply with only the wings showing movement at 60th sec! Excellent POV

Hi Selen,
I don't know how you do it at 1/60th, it's not generally the s-speed most photographers would try to capture a hummer inflight with..
But the result speaks for itself.
At this slow speed you even have the "faint" latent wing image above the bird that adds something different..
Tell me you shot this handheld & I will have to kill myself ;-}}

Firstly, very apt title. Quite a bit of a special effect in the shot. This piece is quite as attractive as any other north/south american hummngbirds that you have covered while in flight.

Wow! Another wonderful picture of this lovely green violetear!

You choose 1/60s (wow!!!) and that gave him three and more wings!!! :-)

Even with this slow speed, all the body is in focus! Nice tail and body position from the "colibri"...

The dark bg enhances the bird and I like the fact that even with this black bg we can easily see the beak!

As i had a look through your photostream, this photo jumped straight out of the monitor :)
The colors and iridescence of the feathers of this hummingbird are simply outstanding and your flash work made sure that they would grab the attention of every watcher.
Add to that a very nice dynamism given by the motion of the wings and a nice, even BG and you have a splendid result.
