Dear Paul, a couple of questions:

a) did you use flash?
b) did you use the blur tool on the bg?
c) was the shot taken in the wild? If so, how far were you from the boa?

As for the photo, a fantastic one.

Stunning sharpness, great "pose" and pov. I like colors too. Very informative note.

Very nice fill flash. I would like to have seen a little less flash and a little more ambient light to give more to the habitat. However rainforests are tough.

You are correct, that is a damn nice looking boa! I've only ever found ugly ones to photograph. Of course, I've never been south of Panama.

Beautiful shot, you got excellent depth to support the serpent's coiled form, caught the tongue out, what more could you ask for, nice work.

Hello Paul,
It's an excellent picture. Details, framing and everything else seems to be perfect. I like the pose of the snake a lot. What is quite interesting here is the fact that every of three parts of the snake squeezing the branch seem to look quite different.
