Capped Heron
(Pilherodius pileatus)

Sideneck turtle
(Podocnemis Unifilis)

Not to sure of the species of butterfly.

Choosing a category was hard for this particular image since there were multiple different species appearing in the scene - Reptile, Insect, and a Bird. So I decided to choose Bird as the catagory since it was the first thing I noticed when I first spotted this friendly community gathering. I think this picture represents TN in a way, showing no matter how different we are, be it culture, country or the color of our skin, we all get a long.

This particular photo was taken at an oxbow lake called Sandoval.

Hi Paul,
Excellent shot of this little community gathering, well seen and captured. A great note too, a nice thought. Nice camera work, no exif info so I don't know what aperture you used but the DOF fall-off is visible behind the log, just perfect. Great detail, a lovely shot. Nice to see what's going on on the other side of the world.
Cheers,
Adrian

A beautiful moment well captured Paul, the 200-400 seems to work well, its top of my wish list for a lens good to see one in action, the control of the DOF is spot on the BG is just nicely OOF TFS.
We do seem to be developing into a multi-cultural ,multi-linqual society here on TN which is great, what pleases me most is more people are posting in their own languages I know it means some of us have to work a little harder to understand some of the note and critques but for the health of the site I think it is worth it and i can now read phrases in many different lanuages ;0))) TFS yours Robert

Great capture, congradulations, just amazing

Great capture. Category doesn't matter.
Great to look at:-)

Bonjour Paul,

Claudine

That is an extraordinary photograph. Great timing!

Hi Paul,
Now that is just precious!
How did you stage that? Hahaha...
That is really a special moment! I just love the butterfly on the turtle's nose.
And the bird is so special. What kind is it?
I think your shot would make a great logo for TN!
Really a great moment well caught! Congratulations. ; )

Hi Paul

Excellent shot and great timing, I would have been shaking too much to capture it. I wonder if there was a fish on its way to the meeting too.

TFS Hilary

Is it real? What a scene! incredible shot!
Bravo!!!
Ersin

Amazing shot, Paul!
I'm speechless... This picture couldn't be taken any better. If there was one perfect POV to chose, this was it. The composition is just fantastic. Excellent choice of aperture (too small - no background blur, too large - not enough DOF for both subjects). Well managed exposure. Impressive! Congratulations,
Mark

Hi Paul,
When ever TN is shut down, this one needs to go into the hall of fame. Three animals in one shot and so beautifully captured. This is really impressive.

Just time for a quick visit.
Birthday Drinks, dancing and hangovers to get through!!!
Thanks for posting, have a great end to the week.

Hello Paul
LOL....what a super shot. I couldn't photograph a butterfly if I tried.... and here you captured a great shot of a butterfly sitting on a turtles nose...to funny. Wonderful composition and the lighting is pleasantly soft. Wonderful colours and detail. TFS Janice

Wow, still debating if this is Noahs Ark or a menage a trois (not to include you...) or a lil' bit o' both! You lucky sonofa&6$^#*! Wow, wow! All those years of computer engineering manipulation finally paid off to come up with such images... just kidding.

Hi Paul,
This is great! You had some strange luck to spot this and enough skills to capture it well :-)
Quite exceptional shot!

Hi Paul

You have one amazing gallery. So many beautiful animals you share with us. Thank you! :-)

What an interesting photo you have here.A turtle, butterfly and a bird that I have never seen before. The only thing I have to say is that the turtle shell and the bird could be a little darker than they are for contrast sake, just the same a great and neat photo 5 for 5.Paul you have done well.

Bob

One of the most amazing shots I have ever seen! I'm in awe!
