This bird here in Venezuela called 'Cristofué "because it seems to say that with their singing. This is an extremely active bird accustomed to the proximity of people are curious in nature and tend to be aggressive when they have chicks in their nest.

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Aves
Order: Passeriformes
Family: Tyrannidae
Genre: Pitangus (Swainson, 1827)
Species: P. sulphuratus

The Pitangus sulphuratus, Passeriformes bird of the family of tyrants, known as cristofué, benteveo, ugly beast, bienteveo or pitogüé is a common American bird that lives from southern Texas and Mexico to central Argentina and Uruguay.
The male and female are very similar and share the task of building the nest, which they do with many different materials and looks messy. His sharp and prolonged cry, which some believe to hear: benteveo other pitogüé or bichofeo, pitaguá, quetubí, pitojuán, Kiskadee and others, is what gives rise to the name and that takes varies according to different regions in which one lives.
It measures 21-26 cm in length and has big head, long wings and short legs. The beak is as long as the head and ends in a hook. The back and tail are greenish brown. The head is black with two white stripes as a white eyebrow and throat, giving the appearance of having mask and black beret. Chest and abdomen are bright yellow and has a crown hidden in the same color.
This information belongs to the paragraph above (unchangeable) in the south of the United States of America your name is Great Kiskadee.
Her singing is their main characteristic: noisy Scream. In different regions of America, its cry is interpreted classic with different meanings, and hence variability in its name.
Food [Edit]

Feeding Pitangus sulphuratus is based on all types of hunting flying insects: larvae, worms, lobsters, some fruits like grapes and figs, small rodents and reptiles and even fish, fishing is very similar to that of the kingfisher, to kill him, take you to a branch and beat her.

The benteveo has a spawning period that includes the spring to summer, with sexual maturity at 12 months of life. In relation to the incubation, the same is done in 3 to 4 positions for season 2 to 5 eggs per position, 13 days of incubation, chicks can be separated for 35 days of birth.

Rarely found in captivity, breeding is possible in this state, using large wicker cages, avoiding contact with other birds, especially in times of heat, adequate food is based on fruits (blackberries, figs, apples, etc.. No oranges or tangerines), insects, sand and worms of all kinds. Accurate reproduction of a cage 150 cm wide, 100 cm and 100 cm wide.

In some places it is the belief that when the benteveo shouts at noon, next to a house, alerted the unexpected arrival of people: relatives, friends or strangers. Elsewhere attribute their cry about an ad for a home birth. In rural areas of the coastline is generally considered the Argentine cry about housing as an unfortunate omen and it auyenta immediately. A legend says that the Guarani Benteveo is the grandson of a bad heart which became the god Tupa bird for not reaching his grandfather dying for a glass of water.

Ciao Jesus, lovely bird with fantastic colors, fine details and splendid sharpness, beautiful composition, very well done, buon week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Jesus.
What a fine bird and you have pictured greatly. I like tree branch pattern, attractive low POV, superb bright colours and amazing level of details. Bravo. Perfect presentation of the beauty.
Alexei.

Hallo Jesus
A very striking image with vivid colours and prominent features of the bird. I like the fine feathers around the beak and the patch of white on its head. The bird with its striking colours stands out well against the blue sky. I do not know if I am wrong but I see some noise in blueish part of the image. Beside the noise it remains a beautiful image. Best regards and thanks for sharing.
Anna

hi jlinaresp

This is a great capture of the bird showing good color and sharpness although there is a bit of noise in the sky and minor obstruction at bottom right.

I like the shot when you take good advantage of light in this direction and getting very good sharp detail on the body of the bird. Great work.

tfs, bill

Hi Jesus,

The branches are framing well the bird. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the Cristofué. The luminosity is enhancing the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Jesus, great shot, wonderful details and color, especially in the chest feathers. Nice work.

Greg

Hi Jesus,
A good shot of this colourful bird.
Your notes are interesting too.
This bird seems to have a bad reputation, possibly because it is so aggressive when nesting.
Cheers & TFS
Steve

hello Jesús

excellent photo of this beautiful South American bird,
fine POV that in French we say en contre-plongé,
also fine framing, very beautiful luminosity and colour tones,
great sharpness and details, and the catch-light at the eye
render the photo more beautiful, TFS

Hola Jesus

abraços;

Taba
