Hey Asbed friend (CeltickRanger). This photo is not as good as your superb catches. But I understand that you like this kind of scenes and that's why I dedicated you. I hope excuses the defects, all products from my little experience taking photos.

This is a pair of lapwings, also known as alcaravanes. I found during a walk, a few days ago, apparently were in full courtship prior to nesting. I stopped awhile to watch the birds, I think from about 35 meters away, whereas the distance was far enough for the zoom on my camera. However, I decided to take any photo that could be used for testing. But just seems to be aware of my presence and suddenly the male (I presume) decided to scare a fly toward me. At that point I decided to shoot and this is the photo that is shown.

The color was a little overwhelmed because the white balance was prepared for cloudy days. Annex another picture (as WS) where you can see more details of the bird, with the corresponding limiting of zoom (this time using the 10x optical and a factor of 2.2x digital tele-converter).

A little information note:

(from Wikipedia)

Acaraván Southern Lapwing (Vanellus chilensis) The tero, lapwings, friar, queltehue, Teru-Teru, trailer, treile, Trelease, caravan or alcaravan TRIEL. (Vanellus chilensis) (formerly known Belonopterus cayennensis lampronotus) is a bird of the family of Charádridos. A native of South America, very common in many parts of Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Venezuela and in the plains of Argentina and Uruguay, a country which considers that its official bird. While living in clearing and even in urban areas, their presence is most common in nearby lakes and creeks. It is also often grapple as a pet in the Gardens, for his sympathetic movements, based on insect feeding and very awake which makes some use it as a warning. Its general appearance is that of a small bird, colorful little flashy but very elegant and stylish, crowned by a small, thin forelock. Strider is a small 30 to 35 cm long. Its plumage is black with a mixture of white (below the body) gray and brown. Also some small violet hues in the area of the wing. The tail is medium in size. His head is gray with white edges around the eye and beak. The beak is short and red, except that the tip is black. The eyes are a deep red color and round. Tero's legs are long and thin, red. The fingers are three forwards and a very short back. Although very hot days or when you are frightened their legs folded completely, the most usual view is supported by resting one of them, while the other was attached to the body. t also is often still bending his legs back. As a tool of combat have under her wings tiny red bone lengthening, called spurs, which he wears on flights flush done to intimidate their enemies, or when fighting raptors. Youngs differ from adults chiefly by the absence of red around the eye and fewer tones and bands of colors in the feathers. The differences between male and female are not detectable with the naked eye, although females are slightly smaller than males. Within the Carádridos, but in the suborder Recurvirostridae also called real tero, living in more southern regions than the previous one, and a much more striking.

Hola Jesús,
Though not the best technical quality, this is a fine capture of a pair of Southern Lapwings, a species that I have seen in Trinidad some years ago.
Nice composition with the natural habitat, against which they show fairly clearly. A fine tribute to our in-flight expert friend, Asbed.
Thanks and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Hi Jesus,
nice capture. It is a pity that the bird is not 100% clear. I like it anyway!
