Photo taken on the roof of a warehouse in the "City Park Maruso". Montalbán, Carabobo. Venezuela.

Description:
About 13-15,5 cm cm. He is distinguished by its white in above the tail. Its lower parts are white while the above are black with blue shades. The tail is short and notched. The feet are covered with feathers.

Estival Distribution and habitat in Europe, except Iceland, and northern Asia, winters in tropical Africa and South-Eastern Asia. Inhabits a variety of places, but generally tends to frequent the towns inhabited by humans, making nests with mud which attach in the upper areas of walls and eaves, in the wild cliffs using rocks and clubs.

Behavior:
The common plane (House Martin) in flight feeding on insects they catch in flight. Live and nest in a cup nest is set below an roof support. The entrance is so small that the House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) did not invade when the nest is completed. Mud, added in successive layers, is collected from many sites. The couple is involved in its construction.

It is quite sociable, and many nests are in contact; draws 4 to 5 white eggs in June, second and third place are common.

Hi Jesus,

I love seeing great pictures taken with a Canon SX :-) This is a new bird for me and a very handsome one. The black, blue and white are outstanding and so beautiful. Fantastic details of the face, eye and feathers. The pose on top of the warehouse roof is perfect to show him off.

Superb "butler" lookalike bird. It surely looks as if this bird is wearing a tailor made suite and all dressed up for the occasion, and waiting for the photographic session to pass. All prim an proper. The variation of "strong" colours of this bird's plumage is remarkable and displays very well. A lovely bird which you captured in a great pose. I like how the bird is looking to the front, it looks as if it is looking at something. Thanks for sharing.
