I do not have the ID of the grasshopper, but I was left impressed by your ability to camouflage in the grass. This is an individual of about 2 cm long, very nervous and therefore difficult to observe to be static.

One suggestion for those who, like me, using compact cameras and love taking macros in unfavorable light conditions, as in the case of these photos that were taken in late afternoon, on the grass under a small bush and the hidden camera almost on the surface of the lawn. The combination of ISO 100, with apertures of f/3.5 to F/4.0 and speeds of 1/500s to 1/400s, reported very good results, obviously, in most cases have to use the flash with restraint, I use 1 / 3 of its power, the smaller scale which allows me to MANUAL mode of my camera.

Additionally, I am taking advantage of the option box Auto Focus extended, this allows a better fit after coupling approach in automatic mode. Unfortunately not all cameras have this option, but for those who have it, it is valid to use as it allows greater control when the focus of the shot.

Wow, Jesus, this is the best demonstration of the camouflage I have ever seen!
The Grasshopper has adopted two vital colours for the purpose -- green and gray. Both go well with the surroundings. In the second image, it is difficult to tell the grasshopper and the vegetation apart.
Superp capture and flawless presentation.

Hi Jesus,

The grasshopper must have moved to catch your eye or I can't understand how you saw it. This is just about the best example of camouflage that I have ever seen. Just amazing how he blends in with the environment. Excellent colors and details in both shots. Thank you for your notes - I'll try out your settings.

Here, I like the perfect harmony between the title and the subject shown. Indeed, the ability of camouflage of this grasshopper is impressive and your composed picture reflects this at best.

Hola Jesús,
unas bonitas tonalidades e interesantes contrastes. Buenos detalles, sobre todo en la fotografía inferior. Buena explicación y mejor realización, sacando un excelente partido a esa cámara. Las compactas de Canon son una maravilla ( supongo que las demás también); yo aún conservo la vieja Canon G3 que me dio grandes satisfaciones, con una lente de F2 rompedora y un manejo para gente torpe como yo muy adecuado :-) eso sí, lenta en enfoque y en disparo.
