Hello,

I still enjoy experimenting with different combinations in difficult conditions.

This photo of a "seed bug" was captured shortly after a downpour in the garden of my house. It is a bug of different colors belong the family Hemiptera: Lygaeidae.

This time I used a combination unless forced, for a regular DOF in F/3.20, 1/320s and ISO 100 without flash. Taking into account the lack of light was not as severe as at other times.

I had a corner which shows the insect from a lateral POV, because I like the color and structure of this bug. At the same time, I was able to catch the green leaf still wet due to rain.

Some entomological data:

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Subphylum: Hexapoda
Class: Insecta
Subclass: Pterygota
Infraclass: Neoptera
Superorder: Paraneoptera
Order: Hemiptera
Suborder: Heteroptera
Infraorder: Pentatomomorpha
Superfamily: Lygaeoidea
Family: Lygaeidae

Subfamilies:
-----------
Ischnorhynchinae
Lygaeinae
Orsillinae
Psamminae

The Lygaeidae are a family in the Hemiptera (true bugs), comprising twenty-one genera. The family includes insects commonly known as chinch bugs and also some of those known as seed bugs (the atypical seed bugs, Rhyparochromidae, were formerly placed herein too). Many of the species feed on seeds, although some are predators of other insects, some feed on sap (mucivory), and others feed on blood (hematophagy).

The bizarre and mysterious beetle-like Psamminae were formerly often placed in the Piesmatidae, but this is almost certainly quite incorrect. Their true affiliations, however, are not entirely resolved to satisfaction.

Identifying characteristics:
---------------------------
* Antennae, 4-segmented; ocelli, 2; beak, 4-segmented; front wing with 4 or 5 veins; tarsi, 3-segmented.

* Antennae arise below line drawn through eyes.

Hi Jesus,

I look forward each day to see what you have for us - I am never disappointed. You always manage to bring out all the beauty of your subjects with beautiful colors and superb details. This bug is wonderful - I love the shades, markings and that marvelous eye. The wet leaf is a bonus - setting and composition are excellent.
