Hi all,
another pic from last winter. This is Cerro Bayo´s top (1782mts). You arrive here after taking the last chairlift and after walking for about 15-30 minutes (more or less because the quantity of snow... we have to make our own path on the virgin and deep snow)
It´s a wonderful place, you can only hear the silence, the wind and the "shhhhhh" under your skis. There is something magical there. After this rocky part you enter into a lenga´s forest. Or if you like nordic ski (randone), you can cross to another mountains...
In very sunny days, like this one, you can see Bariloche city and Nahuel Huapi lake by one side, chilean volcanos at the other side and Lanin volcano in this view (the blur mountain at the back).
Sometimes we can see condors flying over here. It´s used to say that when condors fly, the weather goes bad (and most of the time it´s true!)
I choose this pic because of the volcano. At this time and very close to this place, chilean volcanos are in activity (Chaitén volcano) and lots of people leave their houses and places loosing everything, lots of animals and plants died and a big quantity of land can´t be used for almost 100 years.
This is just a reminder of what close are we of nature.
Hope you like it and my best wishes to chilean and argentinian people who are afected by Chaitén eruption.
pd: I been told that Tronador glaciers (my last picture) are moving again, doing a big noice. The world is moving... |

Hi Brenda!
It's as if I would fly... the point of view you have chosen gives this impression. Now, as I am sitting in my office (hmmm) I close my eyes and fly again over and through that magnificient mountain scenery.
Thank you for these good moments!
Kind regards!
P.S. I won't be able to travel so far...
Strongly reminicent of the Himalayas I have trekked throughout my life, Brenda.
Very fine capture with adequate contrasts to highlight the features of the mountains and depressions covered in pristine snow.
Thanks for sharing this great picture.
Ram
Exelente fotgrafia, el lanin esta un poco perdido detras.
