Indeed a splendid shot from you again and another very interesting and educational note.
The "Insect Kamasutra" series is really terrific...you should make a theme maybe ;)
Anyway, i really love the sharpness and clarity of your shot again, as well as the superb choice of DOF that enabled you to keep both of the butterflies and the flower they are on is full focus and also to blurr the BG just enough to isolate your subjects.
Beautiful composition, lovely colors and spot-on exposure, too.

You have facilitated my task. I should not be post my photo of a butterfly of this species. Your picture is more better.
Composition of your shot is simply perfect. I like terrific lighting and sharpness of the butterflies and plant so much. I also like amazing BG. It is result of use compact camera and large aperture. Using DSLR to get such result is more difficult. BRAVO. Superb job and great skillfulness. My best wishes and TFS.

Hello Radomir,

First of all I must say that I really enjoyed the note! Very interesting! Also the picture is very appealing to the eye! Here's my two points worth opinion and my congratulations for this outstanding work of art:

Composition:

Although the whole foreground is grouped around the center of the frame, I find your composition very good and I'll explain why. If you take the butterflies separately they are positioned slightly left from center. Including the plant in the frame you balanced the butterflies very well and avoided placing them in the center. I appreciate the good POV. Presenting the butterflies from a side view is the best way to show what's going on in your picture. It also offers the advantage of being perpendicular on the optical axis of your lens, thus minimizing the risk that some parts of the subject appear OOF if the DOF was shallow. This is also the reason why I would have opened up the aperture a bit to get a more OOF background. This doesn't mean that the subjects are not properly isolated, it's just my preference for a softer background. However, a consequence of this fact and a very cool thing is, both feelers on both butterflies are in focus. With my lens, this is very difficult to achieve!

Colors:

The reduced color palette creates a nice visual effect. The rich color tones in the foreground are also found in the background and this leads to a more harmonious result. It is obvious how well these guys camouflage in the grass. The natural looking colors are well saturated and show how well they adapted for living on these plant species.

Contrast

I love the stronger contrast in the foreground since this helps drawing attention on the butterflies! Having the same color tones in fore- and background requires something to help isolating the subject. You achieved this via a great distribution of contrast within your picture.

Exposure:

I don't think exposure was an issue here since the dynamic range was not extremely wide. However, you achieved a correct exposure with no white areas being OE and with clearly visible details in the shadows. Very well done here!

Focus:

There is no doubt you have focused with accuracy on the butterflies. The extremely sharp and well rendered details stand proof for that.

Overall an excellent shot with extremely interesting and useful notes. Thank you for sharing!

If I may... 1 photographers note:

DOF is a combination of Diaphragm and Focal-length. Using a low F/number (a big diaphragm) will result in a blurry background. When using a focal-length of about 100mm it will give you a perfect DOF. Trying to keep your F/number below the 6 is a good startingpoint. Your lens will do the rest!
