A pair of whoopers that I took some pictures of last Sunday, it was just these two on that green field. A week earlier there was between 80-100 of them at the same spot.
Because of the intensive hunt during the 1900 and beginning of the 2000 century Whooper Swan (Cygnus cygnus) was almost exterminated in Sweden. Around 1960 it was roughly about 20 pair left. Today it’s estimated about 4000 pair of whoopers in Sweden. |
