[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was one of my first pictures which I took on my journey to Costa Rica in 2006. The morning sun on the first day attracted me to have a look outside and I immediately discovered a butterfly - although very well camouflaged on an old banana leaf.

The picture shows a species of the
- genus Phoebis
- probably: Phoebis argante
- family: Pieridae
Obviously the specimen spent the night resting on the leaf. The wing underside pattern looks quite similar to that of the leaf surface. The morning sun touches some parts of the wings.

- natural light
- ISO 200)
- handheld
- the point of view determined was not optimal, but had to be selected not to disturb the butterfly.

Hi Peter,

Just marvellous in all senses! A perfect mastering of the light to catch finely its yellow color. Astounding sharpness showing the beautiful pattern of its wing. Indeed it could be perfectly camuflaged among the bananas.
My compliments and TFS.
Greetings
