[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This little bug caught my eye while I was on a afternoon walk in a meadow outside the city. He was moving quite slowly, so it was easy to take few frames before he crowled off.

Thank you to the people who made a comment on what type of bug this was: Graphosoma lineatum.

Equipment:
Olympus C-4000Z 4MP digital camera set to 2" super macro mode. No tripod - handheld. SM card.

Postprocessing in PS 7:
- cropped and resized
- cloned out minor reflections on beetle's back
- bosted colour and saturation
- blurred the background a bit
- sharpened

The picture is good, and sharp. Perhaps you could have cropped a good deal of the lower left part : that would have given more impact. The light is not optimal, but a bit of PP might help that.
Your "beetle" is actually a shield bug (Hemiptera, not coleoptera) Graphosoma lineatum. The striking colours are meant as a deterrent, advertizing the bad taste of the insect to potential predators.
