Hi Deborah,
Whata little beauty. All that fluffy down and colours. Looks like you metered on the body instead of the white chest, hence the burnt out bits. Change your metering to 'spot' if it is possible with the Canon 350D and aim at the lightest bits.

Off the scale on cute factor :-) What a beautiful little creature. Nice shot too, great detail and good colours, love the deep blue of the water. The whites are a little overexposed, a tough exposure though given the direct sunlight. Good use of DOF too, a nice image.

This is such a sweet picture of this little one. As it already have been said, the white might be a little OE but I like those details and colors a lot. I might have left a little more space in front of the bird but it is a lovely picture beautiful contrast. Thanks,
