[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This deer seemed almost artificial, the way he stood for almost 5 minutes. It was long enough for me to hand hold at a 30th.

This was taken in the first days of a hard winter at 4000 feet elevation in the Colville Forest area, yet on a piece of small land once used and now abandoned.

I went back that summer and the peach tree fruited for the first time in 15 years. I knew because it was one of my favorite hiding spots...miles from a true home, miles from electricity. Right at the treeline near an old cabin.

First of all, your note is poetic. "I went back that summer and the peach tree fruited..." sounds like the opening lines of a really good book.
