Taken in the Kruger Park recently. I need help on ID!
Was testing out the 600mmm lens and the 1.4x convertor from a car mount - just liked the b/g that this lens gives. Hope you like it!

Hi Tim,
Very good capture of the bird, good sharpness..!
Good shot.
Regards,
Patrick

Hi Tim
I see that this bird belongs to shrike family but can't tell you exactly ID. I am @ work and don't have my books with me. I was on way to buy this lens but changed to 400 2.8. You did good work here. Details, pose and colours work well with BG.

nice focus good background interesting expression on the bird nice colors

Hi Tim
Great picture. This looks like a female Red backed shrike (Lanius colurio) first winter bird (dark subterminal band on head and backfeathers), but maybe you have similar species in SouthAfrica which I do not know.

Hi Tim,
wonderful composition, I like the POV and the neutral colors of the back ground. Perfectly sharp and great presentation. I love the POV you captured such excelent details in that plumage.

Hello TIm,
Brilliant composition showing this female Shrike in a nice pose. All in focus and very interesting to see the very sharp details of the plumage on this one. Good colours and a very nice soft green background.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hi Tim,
Well done.
A lot of detail to detect in the plumage.
How far away were you from the subject, Tim?

Hi Tim,

A beautiful shot of this lovely bird - whatever it may be. The colors of the bird are beautiful and the pattern on the breast is unusual. Beautiful details and pose against a lovely bg.

That is some pretty heavy duty equipment you have there! That must be a exercise in agility. I can't imagine all that lens, and the mount and the steering wheel and the mirrors in the way. I thought I was dealing with a lot of equipment

It's a great shot though and the background is nice like you said.
