I took this image of the Spotted Owl at the location that the US Congressman toured that later developed into a heated debate of whether to save the owl or continue clearcutting the forest's of the northwest. The image has been lightened and sharpened as the owl was deep in the canopy. The Spotted Owl is easily called, and will literaly eat out of your hand if you are brave enough to hold a mouse when those long and sharp talons are outstretched towards you.
I took this image with a Pentax and a Tamron 70-210mm Telephoto, also with a bad batch of Kodak 200 Chrome film bought in a local department store in Medford. |

Hi Steve
Even though this is a bit grainy, it's a nice example of the Spotted Owl. I think I remember hearing the debate about this little owl back in the 80's. This almost looks like a painting with so many shadows and highlight. Interesting note.
TFS Janice :)
