[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm just back from my first hike/photo outing of the year. This weekend is Victoria Day (usually known in Canada as the "May long weekend") that kicks off the summer season. So I decided to get a jump on the throng of tourists by heading up to Waterton (the Canadian section of Glacier/Waterton International Peace Park).

This shot it taken near the entrance station. It was a beautiful day (20C or 70F). As you can see, there is still lots of snow in the high country (it will probably remain into August).

Here is a shot taken from a similar vantage point in January of 2006.

Hi Mike,
A wonderful and sunny landscape here!
I like so much the clear details got here, the DOF and the way you managed on the composition side.
The whites on the mountains makes a very good colour contrast and makes richer the image.
Perhaps I would have cropped the lawn a little at the back.
Congrtulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Well it is nice to see that you have emerged from your winter hibernation. It does indeed look thawed and warm and ready for the tourist onslaught! This is a nice, well balanced composition in color, form and values. Nice work. I'm off Thursday to Wyoming for three weeks.

Great to see you back Mike!
Long time no photo.
Yes, I think spring is FINALLY here...hopefully.
What a nice landscape, blue sky, mountains, a lake, meadow and trees leafing out. Your eye follows around the mountains, lake and trees. Nicely composed. Colours are rich and your image is sharp.

You will have to check out the new Garden Centre at Broxburn Farms. Spectacular plants and hanging baskets to die for.

Hello Mike,
The colours of nature are slowly returning!
But still... the snow capped moluntains are a beautiful addition to this fine scenery!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Mike,

You chose a panorama view this gives a very well composition, the mountains in background are superb, together with the lake and the green vegetation around the lake.

Best regards,
John.

Nice weather you caught, since the past weekend was not that great, and the coming one will be rainy also. Best views are had in spring, with snowcapped mountains and fresh green!
Cheers
Otto

Hi Mike,
I am glad yo see this place again. I've only visited it for about a day, but it surely made a mark in my memory. It is clearly visable that spring is arriving. The grass is getting some color and the Aspen trees carry fresh green leaves. You had a really wonderful sunny day when you took these photos.

Niek
