| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A rodent with piglike bodies, large heads, and swollen cheeks. They have short ears, large eyes, and long whiskers, and their bodies are stout, with large rumps and short limbs. The front feet have four toes, and the hindfeet have five—two tiny side toes.
This image was taken during an animal rescue and release. This animal and many others were trapped in a horrible private "zoo". Most of the animals were removed and released on a finca south of Lake Nicaragua. |

What a strange animal, Dan.
I have never heard of a paca, let alone seen one,
so thanks for the introduction.
Very sharp details and good exposure.
The head kind of looks like a big rat's. : P
TFS. : )
