This is a very simple yet sophisticated presentation. The composition is perfect. Exposure is outstanding. WOW! Perfect light in just the right place. Beautiful background with very good DOF. The pose of the bird is great and you even have the perfect catch light in eye! Congratulations on an outstanding post.

Hi Joseph,
Very sharp and well composed image.
I don't think a fill flash has been used. Checked the EXIF but no data..through assessing the image I rather think not so..
The dark background is neutral but I think it is acceptable through the beautiful light on the subject; something like that...:-)

This is a beautiful portrait of this Siskin, Joseph! It is a great composition with the calm BG that makes the bird stand out so nicely. Fine crop and good details!

Hi Joseph,

Once again you have captured a perfect image. This is an image that sometimes goes unrewarded on treknature, because it is of a dull bird, but I tell you, it should get more points than a picture of a colourful bird, because technically it is so, so good. Congratulations!

I like your next amazing bird picture so much. Beautifulness of the pictured scene is highest. Perfect illuminated twig and bird, excellent sharpness and details of the main subject combine with impressive dark absolutely smooth BG greatly. Refined art work. Bravo and best wishes.

I like the head tilt. Lovely catchlight and the diagonal placement of the branch in the frame is a great visual effect. :-)
