[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello today I give you a battle scared Mourning Cloak Butterfly who is near the end of it's life. These butterflies are the longest lived of the one's found here in Canada. They can live up to 11 months and they are tough little creatures enduring all the extremes of weather Canada can throw at them as well as all the attacks of others of their kind.I have had the joy of watching them living their lives and they are not delicate in anyway ,shape or form as they are fairly vicious with each other and believe me they really are. This is the only butterfly that has graced me with it's presence on my nose as one landed there on me!So I dedicate this photo to Maite who takes wonderful pictures of butterflies and shares them with us all here on TN,thank you Maite!.Cropped and resized using Paint.Net. Hello Bob

A lovely shot of this Mourning cloak. It is tattered a bit but still has most of it's beauty intact.I really like the way it is composed in the shot. The DOF and POV are very good. The OOF BG is pleasant and the colour palette is very nice.TFS
