[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ladusvala in Swedish, Common or Barn Swallow in English ( hirundo rustica) .
It is a very common swallow in Swedish.
Every swede loves it and wait for it to come in the spring.
We have a saying , "One swallow makes no summer"
The come very late in the spring ,april-may.
And move towards south in august-september mostley to east afrika.

I took this in a carport, it had flown in to look for a place to build a nest. I was lucky to have my camera in my hand , this bird sat on a board and just wait for me . This is a flash image, but I like it, the swallows is nearly impossible to get a picture of, they are to fast and are almost in the air.


Technique:
ISO 400 – 1 ev. Raw-format converted in Photoshop CS to Adobe RGB 16B/Channel
contrast, levels , Neat Image , save as Tiff , resized to 800 pixels , USM , converted to sRGB save as JPG for the WEB.

Lovely little guy, they vist us in summer. Sharp, neat, I dared a WS, hope you don'r mind.

Great portrait of this swallow Gert. Very good sharpness showing the details in the plumage. Clever handling of the light not to burn the white areas. The colours are spot on. The cropping is a little tight in the left side. I would prefer just a little more space - about half of the space in Calli's WS.

It's a cracking shot Gert! The detail and colours are fantastic. I do like Callie's WS giving the bird more space. Excellent work.

Great picture of this fast little bird. Glad that you had the camera with you at the time.

I dared a little workshop mostly to remove a little of the flash reflections. Hope you like it.

This is a unique catch, so close-up. Nice work Gert. The flash added nice features to the catch for me. Great stuff. Thanx.
