Ephippiger ephippiger female

The éphippigère or Grasshopper of the vines (vernacular name) is a grasshopper with the atrophied wings which one meets in Europe. The very reduced wings exceed hardly pronotum in the shape of saddle of horse which was worth its name to him.
Its mixed diet is composed of plants, small larvae and eggs of insects. Habitat: This species preferentially attends the mediums hot and low in precipitations.

Bonjour Joel,
très belle photo de l'Ephippigère femelle, que tu montres dans une pose assez acrobatique. Belles netteté et lumière aussi. Les antennes un peu trop longues, ont été légèrement coupées. Un petit déplacement vers la gauche aurait permis de les inclure dans l'image.

Outstanding shot of the Cricket with immaculate sharpness and clear details. Good use of natural lighting and spot-on focus. Lovely colours here and I like its pose. Excellent POV to portray it in its natural habitat and the BG highlights it perfectly. Very nicely composed. Kudos.
