Hi Jane. you have some very bright birds were you live. this house finch is a lovely orange- red colour. fine detail with a nice POV. It looks good aganist the green leaves. very well done TFS.good notes too.

Hi Jane

How lovely to see this stunning little bird in its natural environment. The late afternoon sun assisted to provide excellent lighting for this shot and you made great use of the opportunity.

The composition and POV is lovely, the colours are stunning and very natural, the details are fine (although it would have been great if you could have pushed the aperture one more setting to increase the DOF just a tad more), the BG consisting of the green vegetation and the bits of blue peeking through enhances the orangey/red bird, and the exposure was spot-on.

A nice shot of this bird - possibly the red is over-saturated? We have them here in Maryland and they do not reach this deep golden color over such a large part of their body.
