[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This racoon and I gave each other a bit of a fright. I was walking alone on a rather remote and lonely trail in black bear country when I heard something large crashing away downhill through the brush. Then I saw this racoon scrambling up a small tree, which put it right at eye level with me, about fifteen feet away -- perfect for pictures.
Oddly enough, my husband and I saw a very large black bear today on this same trail, and when it ran off into the brush it hardly made a sound!

This is very similar to my yesterday post.I love the little tongue sticking out.Wonderful eye contact.The details are sharp and well focused.You have captured excellent eye contact.great POV and DOF.This critter is very cute.TFS

I'm not sure I would of stuck around for photos of a black bear, the racoon seems safe enough though..:o)

Very good picture, POV, DOF, Colors and composition are very good.
What a lovely face! These guys are so cute. In Quebec, we have to be very careful because a lot of them have rabies this year. Hope this clears up soon. Thanks for sharing this. Dan
