Spring is coming
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Winter in southern Australia is starting to wane, the days are getting longer and the first signs of spring are appearing.
One of the first natives to start flowering in the Sydney region is the aptly named Sydney Boronia (Boronia ledifolia) a member of the Rutaceae family. The rich pink aromatic flowers of this small understorey shrub mainly appear on sandstone soils throughout the greater Sydney region and south to the Victorian border. It is easily identified from other boronia with its trifoliate glossy leaves with recurved margins.
This one was captured at Yellow Rock lookout at the base of the Blue Mountains. |

Hello Chris,
I'm really glad your spring is on the way! These pink flowers are beautiful and your composition likewise. Pretty sharp details and lovely colours. I expect they are very small flowers?
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Chris,
Fine capture of this spring flower, the Sydney Boronia. Both the flowers and the shiney leaves are very attractive in this sharp and well presented shot. We are having late summer sunshine for a change after all the rain.
We were too late to see these flowers but I remember the Yellow Rock Lookout.
Thanks for sharing,
Ivan
What a soothing thought that while we are sort of melting away in the muggy heat here in New Delhi, you have the onset of spring in Australia, Chris!
These lovely flowers truly herald the appearance of spring.
A beautifully composed shot with lovely colours.
TFS and regards.
