[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Hawk has appeared recently behind my backyard. I believe it's a juvenile Cooper's Hawk.

From Wikipedia:
The Cooper's Hawk (Accipiter cooperii) is a medium-sized hawk. They are permanent residents in most of the United States and their breeding range from Southern Canada to Northern Mexico. These birds capture prey from cover or while flying quickly through dense vegetation, relying almost totally on surprise. Most prey are mid-sized birds, with typical prey including American Robins, jays, piciforms, starlings, icterids and doves. Birds preyed on can range in size from wood-warblers to Ring-necked Pheasants. They also eat small mammals, especially rodents like chipmunks and tree squirrels. Mammalian prey can be as small as mice and as large as hares. Other possibilities are lizards, frogs, snakes and large insects. They often pluck the feathers off their prey on a post or other perch. They are increasingly seen hunting smaller songbirds in backyards with feeders. They will perch in trees overlooking the backyard feeders, then swoop down and scatter the other birds in order to capture one in flight.

This bird was named after the naturalist William Cooper, one of the founders of the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

Hi Wing,
This is a fine image of this hawk. The feather color patterns are wonderful and you have captured them well. Nice composition with the soft simple BG and the bird off center.
Excellent lighting and POV.
Greetings,
Richard

Buen enfoque y encuadre. Me gusta la pose del ave y exquisito el trabajo en el plumaje del pecho. Preciosa fotografía.
Saludos Wing.

Hello Wing,
What a superb shot. Very good POV and DOF. I liked the blurred background a lot which really helps the bird to stand out in the picture.Beautiful composition.
Regards,
Smitha.

Nice detail here. Also, I like the composition because I can almost feel the texture of the features and feel the sharpness of the beak. The eyes are clear and the background is soft, making the raptor stand out that much more. Very nicely done.
