Settling In for the Night
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Not far from my house is a mixed rookery of nesting Great Blue Herons, Black-crowned Night Herons, Green Herons, Great Egrets, and Double-crested Cormorants. This is one of the Cormorants, although I believe that the nest belongs to a Great Blue Heron.
I have been attempting to get a shot of one of the Great Blue Herons or Great Egrets in flight, passing in front of the sun. So far, this is the best that I have managed to catch.
I am still experimenting to figure out what is the best white balance setting for sunsets. A custom WB with a white card would give the most accurate result, but at that time of day the light is changing so rapidly, that it just doesn't seem to be practical. |
