[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On a clear day in western Maine, it is possible to see the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Here is one such view, with the shapes and outlines of the distant peaks rippling across the skyline at sunset on a summer night.

August is one of the few months of the year when an observer may not see the characteristic snow on those peaks that give the White Mountains their name.

From this vista in Maine's Oxford Hills, the New Hampshire range is about 45 miles away by car, less as the crow flies.

My goodness...and to think as a young married man I got to spend time there close by in New England terms, in Franklin NH at a commune named Fiddlers Choice. New England is a most natural habitat for all sorts of creatures, the mountains do indeed count is as in hill are alive....
It is a shame, the haze created by such larger and more populated areas. What damages the air, cannot help but alter the ecosystem and all of its inhabitants eh? Surely there are a few crisp clear days left I pray?
You have displayed a remoteness encroached upon by your cameras lens and your eyes. Very well said tis worth a thousand words.

This isan attractive panorama!
The tad of haze in the air gives this fine effect of dwindling mountains, a great feeling of depth in the image...
